Straight up swap of Nurse for Trouba.... a real hockey trade for both teams.

Trouba is better than Larsson.

I agree Nurse for Trouba is a solid hockey trade and I would do that but I am almost certain the Oilers will not because:

Oilers management loves Nurse. Loves to the point of putting a giant mural of the guy in the new arena after one up and down year.

Trouba is not expansion protected Nurse is.

Trouba has not grown as much as many thought he would to the point of wondering if this is his upper limit.

Trouba "supposedly" does want big money and I personally would not want to pay him any much more than Larsson or Klefbom.

Trouba "supposedly" would prefer an American market/city.

After the trade request I would offer Reinhart as the primary piece going back with maybe Yak or picks to round out the trade as options.

Not even close. Nothing he has done up to date proves this. He could end up being better longterm, but I doubt it. More offense than Larsson, but in his own end it's not even close.

Yeah, best options Edmonton has to offer would be Davidson or Nurse. Jets need left shot D, Edmonton has an abundance to offer.

Looking around the league fast I see Anaheim offering Fowler as another possible option.

I don't understand why everyone is so high on Trouba. He's still a project. No different than Yakupov. If Winn would take Yak for him, do it

Comparing Trouba to Larsson is tough because they're different players... that being said I'd take Trouba over Larsson. The Jets are stacked on D, on any other team in the league he is a top four, if not top two D man. Nurse straight up isn't getting it done, sorry but that's a pipe dream. Throw in Benson though... By giving up Hall for an (arguably) inferior player in Larsson the Oilers have made any straight up offer they give to Winnipeg a top six forward. So think Eberle. It's weird but when they made the Hall trade I actually said I thought Trouba was a better fit...

Who would be surprised if Hamonic was traded to Winnipeg in exchange for Trouba.

Trouba better be in Oiler Silks before this season starts. If not, Chia would have missed a big opportunity.

I have Nurse as being the piece involved in this deal. It just makes sense for both teams.

WPG needs LHD depth and Edmonton needs RHD depth.

Not getting into it all again. I've said many times Larsson is a decent player. Just not the guy you give up a Hall for. We needed a number one guy for Hall. We got a good #3.

I've seen him play a lot, Larsson isn't a bad player...far from it. I also think Trouba would be a fantastic fit in Edmonton. The problem is with the prescient they set by trading Hall. All I'm saying is to land Trouba it's costing the Oilers a lot more than Nurse.

Id honestly give up Nurse and our 1st for Trouba and a 2nd. An instant resolution to our D corps both short and long term doesn't come around often.
